For the artists that have been so supportive of the new gallery project, The Danube, a big thank you. Unfortunately, we did not secure enough commitments to move forward with that project. The artists that did express interest are invited to contact us again for a possible showing in the Lucas Gallery.

We are getting ready for the fall now. The patio will be closed in a few weeks and the furniture put in storage for the winter, but we are planning some interior work that will allow our regular guests and collectors to meet inside through the winter in the same comfort they are accustom to out front.

Wendy Harris' opening went very well as did Wes Wheelers. It was interesting to note the different manners of the two artists. It was an easy observation as they opened within a couple weeks of each other. Our collectors mentioned the difference as well. Both were, of course, equally charming but Wendy had an energized and interactive demeanor that was tempered by her characteristic crisp elegance. Wes was more of the artist that people have notions of from the large shows in major urban markets. Again, elegant but with a stormy intellect behind a philosophical expression. I suppose not unlike their art in some respects. Forgive the faux review but it did strike me as being worth noting.

First Friday Art Walk is coming along nicely. There has been a substantial expression of interest from the area and I'm sure it will take off. More details will follow once the merchants meet and discuss how this might develop. If you are interested in knowing more, contact Kevin at the gallery.

The next big project is preparing for the Philadelphia trade show in January.
