Mission

The Lucas Gallery, a commercial venture, promotes art-based interiors, bringing together artists, designers and consumers.

Abstract

The Lucas Gallery is a commercial public venue outlet for artists.  Kevin Lucas displays his own work as well as the work of artists who work mainly in photography, collage, sculpture and artistically expressive interior pieces.  The goal is such to promote the expansion of artistic appreciation outside conventional styling while still maintaining the marketable and consumable inventory to sustain the gallery as a whole. 

Products and Services

·      Original Artwork – My own artwork is on display for purchase.  This includes photography, collage, and sculpture.  Price points range from $20 for an unframed archival print to $300 for a large, framed and matted archival print. 

·      Artistic Interior Pieces – This consists of my own work as well as inventory by well known design houses, manufacturers, and dealers.  Interior pieces other than artwork will be made available in the Spring of 2008.

·      Coffee, Tea and Iced Waters – A small coffee bar is offered for free to our guests on a donation basis.  There is regular and decaf coffee offered.  It's of high quality.  Tea includes  Earl Grey and Green Tea.  Ice Waters includes bottled water both regular and fruit flavored and mineral water.  Most product are certified organic where practical.

·      Consignment of Other Artists’ Work - Artists may contract with the gallery on a monthly lease program that outlines a dollar amount agreed to by both the artist and the gallery which allows the artist to display work in a predetermined space.  Such an agreement would include marketing, events, promotional activities, and sales of the artists work.  Artists may alternately contract with the gallery to instead pay a percentage of all sales made through the gallery or web site.  We are always looking for new artists.  Contact us for consideration.

What needs does the gallery fill?

·      Entertainment – The space is comfortable enough to induce our guests to return and linger.  It will be more than simply another shop.  It provides a destination for a leisurely evening or afternoon in a creative and meditative space.

·      Caffeine

·      Interior Design Project Needs – Interior designers are able to use the gallery’s product as a resource for their work.  It can also be a meeting place and creative space for development work.  We make our space available to our client designers and artists for consultation with their clients on an appointment basis.  They have full use of the coffee bar as well as the portfolios of all participating artists and design houses.

·      Artist Recognition and Marketing – We offer artists a highly visible venue in an upscale market.

·      Inspiration – Artists, designers, and home owners can use the space and product as inspiration for interior projects.

Target Customer

·      Interior Designers – Interior designers can buy from us.  They are also able to meet with clients in the space. 

·      Artists – We offer a perfect venue for the high quality up-and-coming artist.  We are always considering new artists.  Contact us for consideration.

Management

·      Advisory Counsil - Although the gallery is managed by Kevin and Molly Lucas, an advisory counsil has been established and is maintained that will advise on all areas of management.  This council consists of individuals with proven success in the fields of art and business.  The advisor who advises on one topic may very well also advise on another making the number of people who make up this counsel vary between 3 and 7 at any one time.  Advisors are selected by Kevin and Molly with input from the other established advisors. Length of service on the counsil is for one year with renewals encouraged. A list of the current advisors can be made available for certain parties on a request basis.  The counsil advises on the following areas:
