The Lucas Gallery is housed in a renovated historical colonial two story home within the beautiful lake front village of Skaneateles.  This charming village is nestled on the water in the sparkling Fingerlakes Region of upstate New York.

It is a small gallery of about 500 square feet and the works are hung salon style.  Because the gallery strives to cater to both the collector as well as the interior designer and architect, emphasis while hanging a show is placed on the relationship between the piece and the space it occupies.

Designing a show is the work of the owners, the artists, and the advisory council with whom many major business decisions are discussed. Shows are not juried and although the ultimate decisions are made by the owners, the experienced and talented input of the members of the council is carefully considered. Artists are asked to leave a detailed copy of their portfolio for use by interior professionals. 

The space is set up both as a retail gallery as well as a meeting place for artists, interior designers, architects, and other professionals.

The Coffee and Tea Bar always has fresh drinks for the guest.  Currently we are offering a selection of Viennese teas both green and black along with a high quality dark roast coffee. Every morning that the gallery is open, we also offer the freshest baked goods from local bakeries for our guests as well as orange juice, mineral water, and fresh fruit when it is in season locally.  All refreshments are free but a donation is appreciated.

Baked goods and juice are offered until noon on Saturdays and Sundays.  Coffee and Tea are offered all day.

Although the space is small, careful attention has been payed to keeping a feeling of openness.  Nooks and crannies still house special little surprises for the guest as they poke around the space.

Special consideration has also been given to how the space will service our guest.  Though small, the gallery will always maintain a level of service that surpasses expectations. 

From delicious refreshments to complimentary umbrellas for those few guests who get caught browsing while a rain cloud gathers overhead, the space is designed with our guests comfort in mind.
